Scaling recipes without the math falling apart
Doubling a recipe sounds trivial until fractions of teaspoons and half-eggs enter the picture. The clean way to scale is to convert everything to a single base unit first, multiply by your factor, then convert back. Weights scale most reliably because grams are linear and do not carry the rounding baggage that "one and a half teaspoons" does.
When I am halving a bake, I do not trust myself with running mental fractions across a dozen lines. I move every quantity into grams, multiply once, and read the result.
