Common pitfalls

  • Assuming the leave bracket changes on a calendar-year boundary. It flips on the exact day you complete 10 (or 20) cumulative years — 2015-03-15 becomes 10 days on 2025-03-15, not on 2025-01-01.

  • Reading the 2024 reform as "everyone retires at 63". The delay slides up by birth cohort over ~15 years; a 1968-06 male gets roughly +13 months, not the full +3 years.
